AppleSeed Academy was founded to develop and license curriculum, and to provide professional speaking, training, and train-the-trainer programs for the people who make up Montana’s behavioral health system.
AppleSeed Trainings LLC, doing business as AppleSeed Academy, is a Montana-based company built around a simple idea: professional development should be practical, respectful, and genuinely useful to the people receiving it — not just a box to check.
We develop curriculum and educational content, and deliver it through hands-on training, professional speaking, and train-the-trainer programs to behavioral health staff, peer support specialists, and facilitators of domestic abuse intervention programs.
Every program we build is designed by people who understand both the clinical requirements and the human realities behind them.
Two licensed clinicians with decades of combined experience in behavioral health, addictions, and domestic violence intervention design and teach every AppleSeed Academy program.

She has completed over 250 hours of specialized training in domestic abuse, criminal thinking, and supervision.
Her background includes Adjunct Faculty at Great Falls College MSU, Financial Education Specialist, and adult education instructor within the Montana State Prison system. She holds a Master of Education in Counseling, an MBA in Healthcare Management, and a Bachelor of Education.
Shauna is committed to working collaboratively with Montana communities and justice partners to promote accountability, reduce harm, and support safer environments.
Michael is a Master’s-level Licensed Addiction Counselor with more than a decade of experience in substance use treatment, recovery support, and co-occurring care. He earned his MA in Human Services Counseling with a specialization in Addictions and Recovery from Liberty University, was fully licensed in 2015, and has worked in the behavioral health field since 2011.
A proud Treatment Court Graduate (2003), Michael brings lived experience that deepens his understanding of accountability, structure, and the transformative impact of treatment court models. His background includes service on multiple co-occurring teams across Montana, including the PACT Team, and work as a chaplain supporting first responders in the Bitterroot Valley. Before relocating to Great Falls, he operated a private practice in Victor, Montana, working extensively with legally involved individuals and justice system partners.
Michael’s clinical approach emphasizes person-centered care, motivational engagement, and structured recovery planning, supporting clients navigating probation, parole, CPS involvement, and treatment court requirements.
